Novel Notations & My Odd Fascinations

Novel notations are key for me lately. Planning and writing a dual timeline novel is not exactly what I would call the easiest way to tackle a debut novel. I am sure I could have found more straightforward ways to tell this story, but it would not be like me to take the easy route.

Novel Notations

Most of the novel notations I made here are reading and re-reading, only to find myself writing and re-writing. I spend a fair amount of time jotting down places to check on research and to work out stronger dialogue passages. Where are my sticky notes?

Tons of rewrites.

Odd Fascinations

This story continues to drive all of my jonze for research. I suspect that I am spending far too much time at the library reading up on ancient Jewish queens and arcane tales of magical jewels. Who can resist a great gemstone story?

I’m hoping to get Chapters five and six really locked in over the next week and dive back into the ancient timeline. Hypatia of Alexandria is calling to me and I am really looking forward to getting her back to Alexandria with her Sibylline sisters.

My husband keeps telling me that I should take a long trip to Greece. I think he is right.
