Every author knows how important characterization is to whole the writing process. This became ever so apparent when I started working with a developmental editor in October, and realized a hefty rewrite of Woman On The Wall is in order. It’s what’s needed to get it where it needs to be. And that’s okay.

Characterization of the protagonist underway
First up, a total reset of the protagonist. I’ll start by “casting” characters. It’s hugely important to how I get to know them. Perhaps it’s time for another storyboard? They’ve been pivotal in my novel writing process — I always find magic there.
I enjoy discovering novel characters, so I can’t really judge how painful the characterization part of the rewrite will be.
I remain optimistic.
