My radio host voice is in full roar. Radio has become a huge part of the way I tell stories these days. With a weekly book segment on Minelle Mahtani’s Sense of Place, I’ve had the pleasure of sitting around the table with amazing characters from the Vancouver literary scene.
But, it got even more exciting for me last week when the Roundhouse crew invited me to sit in for an hour to guest host Sense of Place and try my hand in the captain’s chair. I’ve always wanted to host a radio show. How thrilling to get the chance and be right there in the middle of everything.
Westender film columnist Sabrina Furminger and I had a fun, lively discussion about the hot Vancouver indie film scene that gave listeners a great peek into how to get into indie films. The segment (click here to listen to it) took place as a part of National Canadian Film Day celebrations. We both got the radio host voice going on.
Comedian and cultural commentator Patrick Maliha phoned in to the studio for a hilarious chat about the annual 4/20 Smoke Out as more than 25K people gathered at Sunset Beach to smoke up in support of the decriminalization of marijuana. Check it out here.
