The Print
This small print of The Hum by Robin Rivers is available. This archival print comes from the original mixed-media collage. I created the original piece using vintage and handmade papers, paint, and matte medium on paper.
It measures 4×6 and is printed on a fine art paper with high quality pigment inks. It lovely paper that creates stunning matte prints. I will ship flat and protected to ensure no creasing occurs. Please note that colours and contrast vary between different monitors. The colours of the print may not match your monitor’s display exactly. Additionally, copyright of my artwork does not transfer with purchase.
The Inspiration
The gardens of Paris are an endless source of inspiration for me. The stunning sculpture work at Jardin Des Plantes draws out the romantic in me, daydreaming about walks through the gardens, a common pastime for courting couples in the 18th and 19th centuries. I began to work with the idea of night gardens in a larger project for Studio Albertine. There, I considered the nature of inspiration and how a man can fall in love with a dream.
The Artist
Robin Rivers is a multidisciplinary storyteller, exploring the nature of time through memory, myth, and magic. Her work often includes her original photography, handmade papers, ephemera collected on her travels, and retellings of old stories; and is deeply influenced by her Polish and French roots. Robin creates all pieces at Studio Albertine in Vancouver, Canada—on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. This includes the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
