Description

The Limited Edition Print

Seul Limited Edition Prints by Robin Rivers are numbered, signed archival prints from the original mixed-media collage. I created this piece using my original photography that has not been digitally altered, found photography, archival blueprints of Notre Dame de Paris from Musée Carnavalet, and acrylic medium. Only ten (10) prints will be made available.

The prints measures 8×11″” and  I will ship this piece flat to ensure no creasing occurs.  Please note that colours and contrast vary between different monitors.  The colours of the print may not match your monitor’s display exactly. Additionally, copyright of my artwork does not transfer with purchase.

The Inspiration for Seul by Robin Rivers

This beautiful piece came from an exploration in combining contemporary and vintage found photography. The colour photos are shot by Robin during a December 2024 residency in the French countryside. The black and white vintage photo is from a found collection from the Canadian praries. The sense of nature as a place of deep spiritual presence and solitude captured my attention and brought this piece to life.

The Artist

Robin Rivers is an artist, photographer, and writer who creates from conversations with ancient ponds and old trees, spirits of place and old ones whose lost stories want to be told. As a mixed-media artist, Rivers works with original photography, museum archives, and storytelling to give form to the old ones who speak to her through dreams, deep listening, and walking the land in ancient places. Her practice weaves together mystical guidance and archival research, creating magical pieces that restore powerful lost connections and stories rising up once again. Robin creates all pieces at Studio Albertine in Vancouver, Canada—on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. This includes the territories of the xÊ·məθkwÉ™y̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and SÉ™l̓ílwÉ™taÊ”/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
