Brilliant Little Moments In Paris

Bonjour mes copains a Paris. The last 24 hours of travel have given me a few aches and pains, but also some moments to fill up my tank.

I gave myself 6.5 hours to get through the legendarily awful customs lines at CDG Airport and get to Montparnasse to catch my train to Saumur. Who knew it would take 30 minutes! I had like 4 hours of unexpected Paris love time.

Paris, ma cherie

I got off the RER in the 14e and stood in the courtyard of the station for like 10 minutes just letting the city and me reunite. I was worried I wouldnā€™t love it the same as before. Oh, so wrong. Returning to France is like returning home to me.

I stopped at the open air market and took it all in. Squee. Paris. Double squee.

There is very little for me not to love about Montparnasse. It is a decidedly less touristy part of town and a delightful neighourhood full of food, architecture, and quaint Parisian charm. I’m not spending much time in the city this time around intentionally. I get so enamoured with the energy of this place that I forget what I came to France to do. šŸ˜‰

This happy accident made my first few hours in France seriously happy. Even though I was running on three hours of sleep and was focused on making the train, I loved it. Good food. Strong coffee. Amazing French culture. What more can a girl ask for from a welcome home?
