Description

The Traveller by Robin Rivers, is an original mixed-media collage. I created this piece using my original photography that has not been digitally altered, acrylic mediums, dried rose petals, handmade papers, and gold.

It measures 12×12 and  I will ship this piece flat to ensure no creasing occurs.  Please note that colours and contrast vary between different monitors.  The colours of the print may not match your monitor’s display exactly. Additionally, copyright of my artwork does not transfer with purchase.

The Inspiration for The Traveller by Robin Rivers

The gardens of my neighbourhood in Vancouver are amongst some of the most vibrant in the city. On long morning walks, I take my camera to capture bits and pieces, exquisite light, and unique perspectives. This piece came from a love of flowers nearing the end of their bloom, where petals brown and wilt, and travel. I created it as a way to celebrate the last of a beautiful bloom as it travels into its next stage of life.

The Artist

Robin Rivers is a multidisciplinary storyteller, exploring the nature of time through memory, myth, and magic. Her work often includes her original photography, handmade papers, ephemera collected on her travels, and retellings of old stories. Her Polish and French roots deeply influence it. Robin creates all pieces at Studio Albertine in Vancouver, Canada—on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. This includes the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
